New from Suunto, Suunto Ambit GPS Watch
The New Suunto AMBIT takes outdoor watches to a new level. Unlike the earlier X10 range of products it has a swathe of features tailored to the athlete with full support for heart rate (HRM strap not included with this model) and cycle cadence sensors (optional extras). The watch combines a Sirf IV GPS navigation system, altimeter, 3D compass and heart rate monitoring directly out of the Quest range. This is then packaged into a robust glass reinforced plastic case, no bigger though thicker than the Core range. Outdoor Functions:
With the AMBIT the full-featured GPS allows the user to choose set and name waypoints to navigate with and check the locations in multiple coordinate systems long lat to os mapping etc. Suunto's AMBIT GPS watch has a bag of features like no other including temperature, track logging, unique 3D Compass and barometric sensor. Finally unlike similar devices it has a great battery life with the pre-production we had for a while would run most of the day on one charge. The AMBIT also offers functions for the serious mountain athlete. The patent pending accelometer fused GPS gives highly responsive speed and pace with Suunto FusedSpeedTM. Heart rate monitoring with Peak Training Effect will keep you within your optimimum training zone and Recovery Time will tell you when you’re fully recovered for your next adventure. And after a hard session in the hills, the GPS will guide you home where you can upload your data for analysis on Movescount.com. Mountain and Everyday Exploration
The AMBIT is housed in a robust BuiltToLast casing and has an enhanced battery lifetime of up to 50hrs in GPS mode. True to Suunto’s heritage in dive instruments, it is water resistant to 100m.
